Brown Shoes is a family-owned retail shoe store in Columbus, Ohio, dedicated to finding the best footwear solutions for our customers. We have products for all age groups from fashion to comfort. We are also known as the place to come for the Hard-to-Fit. Brown Shoes has been in business since 1964 in the Tremont Shopping Center in the Columbus suburb of Upper Arlington. Three generations of the Brown Family have owned and operated the business at this same location.

The store inventory of over 12,000 pairs of shoes in the finest, most comfortable footwear available can be used to fit feet of any size and width. One size does not fit all at Brown Shoes. We take the time to understand our customers’ needs and lifestyles and then fit them with appropriate footwear. We have a Licensed Pedorthist on staff to handle complex and medical footwear needs.

Jeff Brown was born and raised in Upper Arlington in the shoe business. As a second-generation Pedorthist, he has operated Brown Shoes Inc. since 1988. The business began with his parents, Bayard and Marge Brown, in 1964 at the same Tremont Center location as today. He has been married to Patty Boyles Brown since 1978.

Jeff is a 1973 graduate of Upper Arlington High School and a 1977 Business Administration graduate of The Ohio State University. His father, wife, brother, son and neice are all Ohio State graduates as well. Jeff has worked in the retail industry his entire life. He was a Buyer for Lazarus, Target, and Gold Circle before returning to the family business prior to his dad's passing in 1990.

Jeff earned his Certification in Pedorthics in 1991 after attending Northwestern University's Pedorthic Education Program. He became one of the first Licensed Pedorthists in the nation when Ohio began requiring licensure in 2001. His certifications and outside memberships include:

Ben was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and raised in Grandview Heights, Ohio. He represents the third generation of Browns involved in servicing the "walking public" at Brown Shoes. He ran track and cross country and participated in the marching band while attending Grandview Heights High School (Class of 1998, Salutatorian). With over ten years' retail and graphic design experience, Ben holds a degree in Multimedia from ITT Technical Institute with membership in the National Technical Honor Society. Digital and print marketing materials, including the Brown Shoes website, are designed and maintained by Ben. His decade of experience as Multimedia Specialist and Marketing Coordinator at Brown Calabretta Architects Inc. (owned and operated by his father, Rick Brown) has proven invaluable.
